Abstract

The article is devoted to some problems of modern national Russian historiography of the Second World War. It is established that a new interpretation of them has arisen in the process of socio-political changes in the former USSR, the use of historical archival materials by historical science, pluralism of thoughts and conclusions, and a reduction in the control of state oppression by the minds and scientific work of scientists. Conclusions are drawn that many questions and themes of the Second World War gained new interpretations and assessments. Nevertheless, Russian national historiography has not yet been eliminated from imperial thinking, falsification of certain important issues, imposes erroneous political assessments and conclusions.
